Tim Roache - Regional Secretary

Appointed as Regional Secretary in June 2007.  A member and an employee of the GMB since 1979, previously working in London and Midland & East Coast Regions.  Previous roles include Legal Officer, Organiser and Senior Organiser.

Our region employs a team of officers and support staff and part of Tim’s role is to ensure the efficient running and use of these resources.  It is also to ensure the continued growth and sustainability of the region through full time officers and the lay membership.  Tim is responsible under rule to the Regional Council and the Central Executive Committee.

Maria Ford - PA to Tim Roache

Maria has worked for the GMB since 1979 and progressed to Regional Secretary’s PA in 1997.  Maria’s role is to provide the admin and secretarial support to ensure the efficient and effective running of the region.

Amongst the many roles are arrangements for the monthly Regional Executive Committee meetings, twice yearly Regional Council meetings and busiest of all annual GMB Congress.  Maria also retains the region’s sickness absence and holiday statistics and all employees’ personnel records.
