GMB Serve Notice on Veolia For Strike Action In Sheffield

Refuse collectors employed by private contractor Veolia working for Sheffield City Council have voted to strike on three days, April 13th, 20th and 27th in a dispute over pay.

200 GMB members at the company are incensed that despite the company receiving inflationary increases from the council, they have not received a pay rise for two years.

A meeting involving the GMB, Veolia and conciliation service ACAS is due to be held on Thursday, 5th April 2012 in an attempt to resolve the dispute.
