GMB will be electing a new General Secretary and voting papers will be in all members' magazines that will reach their homes no later than 14th October 2015.

Only 2 candidates are standing and they are:

Tim Roache - Regional Secretary for Yorkshire & North Derbyshire Region

Paul McCarthy - Regional Secretary for North West & Irish Region

It is essential that members are encouraged to vote in this crucial election, which will decide who leads our union into the future against the ever increasing attacks on unions and their members by this Conservative government.

Each region is allowed to hold hustings meetings and we have 2 in this region, which are as follows:

Leeds Hustings to be held on Wednesday, 7th October 2015 at 6.30pm in the Council Chambers, Leeds Civic Hall, Calverley Street, Leeds, LS1 1UR

Sheffield Hustings to be held on Monday, 19th October 2015 at 6.30pm in Farm Road Sports & Social Club, Farm Road, Sheffield, S2 2TP
