TRADE UNION BILL AND HOW IT WILL AFFECT PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS
The Trade Union Bill has now received Royal Assent and has become the Trade Union Act. The Bill received significant criticism and as a result the Government was forced to back down from its proposals to abolish check-off. However, the financial burden of operating check-off is now solely in our hands and it could have huge implications for us. Ultimately, it will be your union contributions that will be used to comply with this instruction.
It is for this reason that we still urge you to transfer your membership to Direct Debit.
