Sheffield City Council have today agreed to award back pay to its lowest paid staff.

Following negotiations with GMB, officers have agreed to settle the ongoing dispute with council cleaners through paying substantial back pay.

Will Dalton, GMB Organiser, said:

"We are pleased to settle this dispute with Sheffield City Council.

"On behalf of our members I'd like to thank all the Councillors and members of the public who supported us in raising this issue."
